About FrakNet
FrakNet began as #frak on DALnet, which was spawned as an offshoot of #fark, which has since relocated. Somehow, the word "frak" came up as a typo or was suggested, nobody really remembers which. In any case, the channel #frak was registered, and numerous #fark users came to chat with us there. Most of us are in fact ex-#fark chatters. We all got tired of chatting in there and having to deal with their policy, so we just made our own. As time progressed, DALnet's service became more questionable, so I decided to run an ircd. We ran UnrealIRCD for a while because it was available on Windows, which was the only OS I ran at the time. The server was on for a little, but since I only had one computer at the time, it crashed frequently because I used it for day-to-day stuff. I stopped running the server after a little bit, just because of the horrendous downtime. Once I got another computer, I started the server back up, at which point JustNoodle ran a server for us. Later, after I loaded linux on the computer (in fact, the same one that hosts ocean.ca.us.fraknet.org now), we moved to bahamut, at which time rogue linked his server to me. Unfortunately, that compromised the chances of noodle running a server for us on his home computer, but in return we got better uptime and a more "modifiable" ircd. Besides, he was on dialup anyway ;)

And that's how FrakNet was started.
